I'm new here, so I'm not sure if anyone has talked about this yet, but is anyone planning to go to the New York Anime Festival (Dec 7-9)? I'm definitely going to go since I live in NYC anyway.

Yeah, I'm going. I live in Manhattan as well. If anyone wants to meet up let me know becuase I'm sure I'll be flying solo. Unless I can convince any of my friends to go with me, that'll be tough though.

Well, if your friends are guys, make them watch Hellsing. I've converted many non-fans with that one.

I live on Long Island, and my dad lives in Brooklyn, so I can easily get to the convention site via LIRR and subway.
I personally can't wait. I'll probably be going with my brothers and cousin. This will surely blow the socks off of I-Con, which is the only other anime convention I've been to. |

Yeah I can't wait for this convention. It seems like it will be a lot of fun.

Da. I vill be going to ze festival, and I vould like to make some friends there. I have recently realized that my passion for anime, manga and J-culture would be much more fun if'n I had some peeps to share it with. We could shout "Bravo!" at my giant LCD TV when watching a great anime, and throw popcorn at it when watching a bad one. So yes, I'd love to meet folk there. I'm a newbie here, please feel free to drop me a line, or a pint of blood, as I am studying to be a vampire.

Likely take the subway, as I avoid driving in the city when possible. |

I looked over the programming schedule, and it seems like they've got a lot of cool panels and events. I'll just have to read the coverage from here though

I'm going on Sunday with a friend. Anyone know how likely it is that I won't be able to get in? I waited too long to order tickets online and now have to get one there.

There are enough space for more tickets. There was not even much of a registration line on Saturday, typically the busiest day. I'd say there's just about 3000 people at any given time on the floor.
Here's a walk-through of the first day (Friday): http://youtube.com/watch?v=Pzd5gf6bsXk Edit: 2nd Day walk-through (Saturday): http://youtube.com/watch?v=4X64392fYFY |

Thanks for posting this. I spied Jo Chen in your viewfinder around 6:45 (right before you hit the Tokyopop booth).
