I’ve been wondering for months when it would be time for the manga of Happy Sugar Life to get an English release, especially since the anime is set to air soon. Glad to hear this news and I’m hoping that not too much time passes until the first volume is out.

Did I miss a previous English license announcement of Uchouten Kazoku and Tatami Galaxy?

Surely the novels for the two more well known Morimi anime adaptations will be getting released before the two mentioned in the article?

This was my first thought as well.

Oh well, I'll probably buy the two mentioned in the article in the hopes that they'll license his other work.

Seems like a light manga load for Yen Press, but all I was really hoping for was HSL anyway. The two Morimi novels are the real draw here and I can't wait for 'em.

Judging by their recent release schedules, we could have vol. 1 by the end of the year or maybe not until Feb/Mar.

Edit: their December releases are already posted on their site so I'm banking on "between January and March."

I also had these same thoughts, but the two licensed novels are the bases of two new movies from last year and this year, so I suppose it's more about striking while the iron is hot.

Please let Penguin Highway and Yoru Wa Mijikashi sell well so I can get The Tatami Galaxy and the rest of Morimi's work. I'm excited to be getting those two novels but I've been waiting years for the others.

Finally the BSD novels! It’s been a long time coming.

I wonder if any of these other light novels and manga will get anime or movie adaptions soon? (Those that don’t already have)

Thanks for pointing that out. We contacted Yen Press and they also clarified which manga it is. We've updated the article.

Seconded! Although I'm really happy to get 2 of his novels, I'd love to see Tatami Galaxy and The Eccentric Family come out here, too!

It saddens me that nobody here is excited for them picking up 86. It is one of the best new military series to come out of Japan recently.

I'm excited, if only because it increases the probability of an anime. I don't read many light novels, but I've heard the series is good.
