While I dislike the gatcha game industry since it has resulted in a lot of gambling games for kids I can easily see why there are so many gatcha games on the market. I had heard that FGO had 4 billion dollars in revenue but I wouldn't have guessed that the average revenue per download in Japan was US$487. If a game developer is lucky they can make a waifu collection game where people will spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars.
