Let's hope the wait's worth it! I can imagine NBC's marketing for this event when it finally does come...

A global pandemic prevented it from taking place in the year of its name... But the one event that unites the world has finally arrived! The 2020 Olympics from Tokyo, Summer 2021 on NBC.

Maybe they'll delay it to mid September-early October run (similar to 2000 Summer Olympics in Australia, although that happened for a different reason) this year if they want the Olympics to still take place this year.

No, the IOC confirmed that they will not be held this year. They will be held next year "not later than summer."

Besides, a lot of other events, including many sporting events, were already postponed to September, so, they would collide with Olympics if they were held in September. And both September and October are also a months when some national leagues, including popular sports like Basketball or Football, are either starting or already in full course, so that's not an option either.

So what's AX's excuse for keeping its date?
