The anime itself is a large step up from the SD Gundam Force, but a far cry from the late-80s/early-90s SD theatrical shorts and OVAs. Model kit wise, there isn't a single dud in this entire line. Every single kit paints up beautifully, and everything is designed with customization and creativity in mind (and, in classic Bandai fashion, the instruction manuals are certainly eager to point out that Kit A would look pretty cool with Kit B's wings, hint hint).
Of particular note are the Kshatriya and Sinanju - which can be combined together into a "Nightingale" configuration that just may be the best SD kit Bandai has released in the past decade - and army builder boxes that can be configured into a huge variety of grunt designs (not just Zakus, but also Leos*, Jegans, Strike Daggers, and GINNs).
* or Serpents, depending on who you ask or how you choose to paint them up.
