I love most of his work but him, as with a lot of animators recently, have been helming and making stuff related to tokusatsu. I know how much those shows have inspired them, and how influential those have been on anime in general, but I much rather see original content from them than old IPs. I cant tell if I am being selfish or want to see Anno, and others, make their own original creative products from their own minds.
