According to www.animenation.com, television producer Joe Menosky (Star Trek: The Next Generation/Deep Space Nine/Voyager, The Dead Zone) and Roy Lee (The Ring) are set to produce a live-action adaptation of Witch Hunter Robin for Sci-Fi Channel.

Personally, I'm liking the sound of this. Witch Hunter Robin's one of those anime that could easily translate into a good American live-action production, and it's being helmed by, in my opinion, capable individuals. Since it'll likely be a "Sci-Fi Channel Original Series," though, I do have concerns for the special effects budget. Hopefully the visuals will come out more like Stargate SG-1, and less like Sci-Fi's sub-garbage movies. Neutral

I think this will be a good thing as well. Witch Hunter Robin does seem like it would make a good americanized movie, but knowing the Sci-Fi Channel, the graphics probably won't be too good. But if you can find out when that will air, it would be appreciated.

EDIT: Nagisa, I still can't figure out your sex lol

If this is true then I'm hoping they work closely with SUNRISE and BANDAI Visual (and Bandai Entertainment too). All I can say is only time can tell

Probably won't be for a while. The deal between Sunrise & Sci-Fi was just closed this Friday.

lol I'm still trying to get used to it...I miss Saitou. Razz

A live-action WHR sounds good to me. I think it'll be a real treat if shown on Sci-Fi. But I know where your coming from special effects-wise. Some of the Sci-Fi original shows have cheesy effects, but WHR doesn't have as much flashy action. I admire WHR for the moody atmosphere and the intense story. Plus there is not as much cultural references as other shows; perfect for an American live adaptation. Still, if this happens to be true...this is one I'll look forward to.

Heh, I always did think that WHR could be made into a live action american series really easily. It seems to me it could be in the same genre as Buffy, and if they go with the same special effects as Buffy, then it can be pretty good.

Here's to a new alternate ending to WHR! Very Happy

I just hope they don't go after any future deals with Sunrise. I'd prefer Cowboy Bebop and Big O to stay animated.

And I want Robin's hair to stick straight out!

I've only seen the first 3 episodes, but looks good! Live action could definitly work for this anime.

I wouldn't mind watching a live-action anime and I haven't seen one yet so I look forward to this one as being my very first.
