Questionable price tag aside, this looks pretty good. Nintendo must be giving this game a high price because of its large amount of content.

The price tag is only questionable if you don't buy the bundle, but that bundle will be no more after the fall units start shipping.
Thing is everyone has a certain price they are willing to buy certain games. Most Nintendo games I'm willing to buy full price since I grew up with them (along with $80 games), but most third party games (but not all) I would only buy at $35 or lower because they aren't to my taste while some indie games I thought I was outright robbing the developer (Vampire Survivors, Baldur's Gate 3 and Fields of Mistria)!
TLDR: Vote with your wallet.
As for the Direct it was ok but unlike most people who said it was what they already showed I saw a few new things (Pokey, Missions and 8 players on one cart), but I see where they are coming from. Nothing "huge". I hope we can get guest characters again down the line (I want Kirby gosh darn it!).

Are those same worlds places where these games will see a permanent price drop after awhile?

Maybe i'm misreading your post, but are you implying nintendo games will see a permanent price drop? MK8 deluxe has been on the switch for almost a decade, bundled with the console every year (iirc), port of a wii u game from over a decade ago... never got a permanent price drop. Heck, some of these wii u ports are getting more expensive, like BOTW.

Oh come now, it's definitely worth at least $60, that's what all games have been for a while now. $80 is a little ridiculous, sure, but unless you just hate Mario Kart as a franchise, there's no reason to devalue it that far.
Unless you're just making an argument that literally everything should be cheaper which hey preach on, brother, I can get behind that.

I wouldn't hold your breath for Kirby since he already has a game in the pipeline but I can definitely see Link coming back. Maybe they'll finally put Captain Falcon in just to finally put the last bullet in the head of the F-Zero franchise.
Personally I demand to know if they're gonna let the cow eat a cheeseburger like the other characters because that would be hilariously messed up, and also just want to see the cow get alternate costumes...

* Oh believe me, I'm salivating over Kirby Air Riders! Looking forward to it the most of the games we know so far. He just fits in the Mario Kart art style (more so than Link) and we were teased really badly with that one Smash Bros trailer. I guess the cow can eat a veggie burger?
To add to my argument the main problem with the price(s) is at least in the US wages for the average worker has not gone up, but games have for the most part have gotten cheaper. This is mainly to do with the blow up of the indie scene and a lot more computation compared to the 90s where like 50-75 got released each month when today we see at least 500-1000 games each month.
Also, a correction, it's 8 wireless local players not one cart with 8 other systems.

I sarcastically was asking would a price drop for games on Switch 2 be possible as the Switch has had this problem for much for its existence. And if Switch 2 is going to continue the trend it’s not going to be good.

Breath of The Wild has dialogue involving a Rito wanting to eat chicken so why not?

I've watched enough Lupin III episodes that I think I'm finally ready to break into the local museum and steal the world's most valuable diamond. And then I'll finally be able to afford Mario Kart World.

In what world is Baldur's Gate 3 an indie game?
Anyway, Mario Kart is one of the few games that people will get their money out of I imagine. It's the single-player games costing 80 dollars that's going to be hard to justify.

Worth pointing out that MKW *is* $50... if you buy the bundle. Which I imagine most people will, because other than MKW there's not a whole lot of reasons to buy a Switch 2 right now.

Uh... this one. The world we all live in. BG3 is, in fact, very famous for being the first independently-published AAA game.

Birds of prey eat other birds, so it's fine.
