I really hope that Crunchyroll adds the 3 movies before this drops. I watched Dreaming Girl years ago but haven't seen the ones. I'd really like to catch up before season 2.

The ANN Encyclopedia lists each of the 3 movie getting an Eng. dub. I think enough time has passed where AoA should let Crunchyroll stream the movies in both languages.

Sakuta is in college and still dealing with girls and Adolescent Syndrome. There's even a Mai 2.0, complete with recreating the famous Bunny Girl sense.

So this a TV show season? What was the point of doing the previous arcs as movies?

Likely the original plan was typical "anime as source material advertising" thing: one season and a movie. Good news: the "commercial" was so successful they decided to adapt more arcs. Bad news: the next arcs, Sister Venturing Out and Knapsack Kid, would have failed on TV - lots of heavy stuff but very little romance, comedy, or engagement with the extended cast - but were too important to skip.

Doing them as movies so S2 could start with the "much better for TV" University Arc was the right call. Still won't have most of what made S1 so popular - Schrodinger's Cat, the Shoko and scar mysteries, Sakuta's "interesting" interactions with every girl that isn't Kaede/Shoko/Mai, Kaede as adorably shy (and harmlessly delusional) middle schooler - but it will have a much better chance at success.
