Of course it's linked to some NFT nonsense. I like the look and it has an absolutely stacked cast. I'm torn on this one...

I'm with you on that. I honestly really like the somewhat old-school (is 90's old school? Classic school?) look, but I will be that the also shoe-horn in as many NFT characters as they can. Kinda like a new version of GI Joe - every new character toy has to make it's way into the show, or vice versa. . I also hate the idea of supporting NFT nonsense. Just beanie babies for tech bros |

My strategy is to check it out once, give my honest opinions, say it's a shame NFTs are involved and I hope the next project doesn't utilize them without participating further or recommending it to anyone. Because it does look really cool and I want to give my honest opinion of the work, but I am not going to support it as fan with the NFTs being linked through the funding and I want the creators to know that so they hopefully don't do it again (especially if they keep making stuff that looks this cool). |

For how much they poured into the star studded cast and the NFT angle this just looks pretty standard to me. Like it’s not the worst looking anime I’ve seen but it just looks like everything else out there and I’ve seen way more creative indie magical girl works on Kickstarter. There was even one major one earlier this year that was more creative animation than this for how much the staff on this seems to look down on Kickstarter projects.

Outside the CG is looks pretty authentic. We'll never get a true authentic 90s aesthetic just due to how technology has changed such as no longer using cels to animate but it's probably the closest we'll ever get. I'll be checking it out.
I'd like to see more project like this expand back into the 80s OVA era. |

Reminds me of Sailor Moon from 90s.

I like the retro aesthetic and the all-star cast...but NFT's...
It has to be deliberate that Kotono Mitsuishi's character is blonde. |

It looks absolutely amazing - plus, seiyu cast is super stellar.
As for the whole NFT thing, I don't hate it, if someone can earn money with it, good luck. |

Dr Wagami's character was already designed before Mitsuishi-sama jumped onboard! But of course the design is fitting - she's kinda like a cool grown up version in some ways. |

Hello everyone
Wai here from the production team of Galverse. Happy to answer any questions you have about the anime! As I've specified in other threads about this already, NFTs were used to crowdfund the production of this independent anime. We are a small team of four people making an original IP, although of course a big staff of over 130+ anime professionals have worked on the final OVA. To reiterate a few things I've mentioned in previous threads: - We aren't advertising the NFTs - We aren't selling the NFTs (and haven't since the initial launch in April 2022) - They aren't shoehorned into the production - We asked ANN not to mention them as they inevitably set off lots of discussions irrelevant to the current anime production - We don't hate kickstarter as Takato said above lol, I mentioned in another thread that web3 was actually a friendlier funding model for teams and fans as there's less fees and a more direct relationship to fans - but of course it's not viable anymore so it's not really relevant to go into that. There's a reason a lot of professionals and big name seiyuu's signed on to help us, and it's because they believed in the vision of Galverse and love the aesthetics which Director Ayaka has spent so long developing. A lot of love and hard work has gone into the anime production over the last three years, so we hope you watch and judge it based on the creative and artistic merits as you would any anime. It will be released for free on YouTube and some streaming services (in Japan to begin with) on June 25. I've been head down in the studio and across every part of the anime production so if you're curious about any of that please fire away! |

It's absolutely wonderful to see modern anime with such iconic 90s style, and again, the voice actors that work on it are absolute legends - well Ai Fairouz is still young, but she is so popular nowadays that 2020s will be remembered by her. I wish you all the success you guys can get. |

This angle probably isn't doing Shinsei Galverse many favors, if any. The NFT association is already there and still active. It mentions in the article that Galverse NFTs are available for sale on OpenSea which they absolutely are, and an earlier reply pointed out the tweet to announce the NFTs can be purchased on Mercari JP posted in March of this year. There's a QRT chain from a few days ago of people showing off their Galverse NFTs. It's an NFT project through and through, just say that with your whole chest. It's easier to accept that you can't win over the people who don't want to support an NFT project than try to distance the OVA from the NFTs when it is, at the end of the day, an advertisement for the NFTs. |

So it's another Bored Ape Yacht Club scenario ? Build up hype to sell some JPEGs and then once the excitement dies down they are essentially worthless.
