No surprises whatsoever but very happy it's coming sooner than expected!

What good news~ one of the best romcoms out there, definitely one of the most outrageous and hilarious shows I have ever seen and I'm glad the new season is so soon.

I'm glad for this sequel, but I fear that the vocal cords of Rentarou's seiyu might have another thought on the matter after this incredibly long line at the very end of S2.

Looking at pre-event activity it was obvious we would get season 3, yet announcement even leaked less then 24 hours before official reveal, good thing we didn't need to wait long for official confirmation Very Happy Btw we are very likely to get double cour this time around due to leaked manga color page putting certain girls in the front. Meaning it could cover girlfriends from 12 to 19, covering up to chapter 100 manga-wise, would be amazing news Cool

Not sure how much further they can take this concept honestly. I absolutely loved the first season. It was highly entertaining and so silly in its concept. But by the time I was about halfway through season 2, it already started to feel like the concept was running out of steam. I'm not sure if it can pull off a third season unless something happens to really change things up.

It’s a hangout show with romantic comedy elements. If that’s not your bag, so be it. But the point of the show is that all these girlfriends will interact with each other over the course of time.

I'd argue it is a bit unexpected. Regardless of popularity, even the author admits there is a limit to how much the anime can adapt before the logistics simply make it impossible to continue.

Thing is, manga is still running strong 230+ chapters in with spoiler[35] girlfriends, maintaining positive reputation and excitement. It's designed to run for a looong-time, that's why, believe it or not, the first two seasons didn’t even cover some of the most common chapter types — like episodes where the girls just interact together, solo focus stories, individual dates, small-group moments, or the little vignettes. The series just keeps expanding in both breadth and depth, constantly building this giant web of endless interactions, never running out of content. And since it's saw both as romcom and gag comedy, author can lean on one side or the other, basically doing whatever plot they want. It's really like romantic version of Bobobo/Gintama/One Piece. Laughing

I got my aroace friend who hates romance stories and very much hates harems into the manga. She just finished reading volume 15 and we talked about how the author is able to bring freshness to repeated formulas, as well as pull out new ideas here and there from thin air. Not every chapter hits, but it's been like that from the start. The fact we're both still cracking up so hard is a good sign to me.

That said, the novel was a bit bland, which is saying something because it feels like it tried too hard to be the manga in prose form, but clearly failed.

I'll probably will have been dead for decades before this series even gets near the end. I expect it to go nearly as long as One Piece.

We quite possibly might live in the best timeline if we're really getting more 100 Girlfriends in anime form.

New girlfriends! The girls as idols! More Rentaro Family and Rentaro! I can't wait!!!

Well, this is kind of show which you are either vibing with or not. However, I do think season 2 covered one of the weaker stretches of the manga, since it was kind of transition period from reasonable number of girls for any harem into absolutely unreasonable. After that manga tweaks its formula a bit to work with the giant cast of characters. Also girlfriend gimmicks get progressively more deranged.
