I'm still sour that Wit subjected Eckhart to a nose surgery.

Nice to see that Myne has met most of her family again, even if the moments themselves were rather short.
That mayor is a fool, in a setting were getting executed is not that uncommon a sentence it does not seem wise to go against high ranking (not to mention magically gifted) members of the church.

What thread will we use for this Forth Season?

Actually, Myne and Ferdinand are at least half in the wrong here.
Mayor is not actually "a fool", is that there's a huge miscommunication happening here.

Assuming that he will try to take one if not both of the girls back by force I am not sure if I can call him anything else based on the information the episode gave. Maybe next episode will make clear that the situation is different than assumed though.

That was a good episode for reminding me of how nobles can get away with a whole lot of nasty stuff. Given that Rozemyne is now part of that class she has to get her hands dirty sooner or later. I do wonder about her not pointing out with her modern day knowledge that such a system does not make for a stable future (though I suppose 99% of said knowledge is used for books only).
As for the mayor... he is basically dead already, the only question is how it will go.

The "dirty" part is conspiring to bring a rival noble down.
Apart from the mistake the Mayor made trying to get the kids by force because of his lack of information, that Ferdinand intentionally exploited lefting him in the dark, there was nothing wrong going on there.
Myne's Monastery scheming was doomed to cause problems anywhere, because she has no idea how this word works apart that Commoners need to work to survive.
All those kids are legally the Mayor's property, on behalf of the Village.
Orphans are common property, they work for the village until adulthood when they gain a plot of land and are registered as the Village's citizens. And they are an important asset for the Village, if the Mayor sells one orphan to a Noble this is something good, it's resources that will help in the Winter. The Mana Shortage is real, missing the money from those two girls will hurt the Village, and Myne was proposing going around the Duchy taking orphans without thinking about any of this. She would be just one more tyrannical Noble making the Commoners starve.
Also... unfortunately many Commoners have a wrong idea about how they should deal with Nobles because of Bezewanst. They were never instructed what exactly are the rules and in the past Bezewanst and Veronica (Sylvester's Mother) would "solve everything".
The Mayor in his error acted as was expected from him by the Nobles he interacted before.

Even if she did think about that, it would quickly backfire on her. Just learning that widespread literacy would disrupt the authority of the aristocracy was enough to disturb Ferdinand, as those in power much prefer keeping that power over considering long-term stability (which can be seen in the modern day with the wealthy and the US political system), so if she ever told anyone, the best she could hope for in return would be a rant with some scolding.

Fair enough, I tend to forget that Ferdinand is not one for changes that can alter the power balance in society. He is quite critical of change in general.
This week Wilfried got quite the harsh lesson. He needed it though since he still has a future ahead of him now, if he had continued as is he would not have had a great one (or one at all). Not being able to read or write while you see the children in the orphanage do so must be a severe blow.

I completely forgot that monsters/feybeasts are a thing in the series and how brutal they are. That goes for how deadly their world is outside of the cities/towns in general, Myne does not often explore and thus it is easy to forgot.
