I can’t wait to see Mariabell get taken out. I really hate that smug look that’s always on her face and the way she thinks that everything is going to go her way.

S4 E9:
You will likely get your wish next week since Mariabell has finally appeared to fight Rimuru and while she is not alone I do not think that she has a shot at winning. Milim her fight I am more unsure about as to how that will end, she is likely strong enough to easily win but the question is if she has the will to do so. |

Now that all of Mariabell's hypno-minions are gathered in one place, can't Rimuru just set them all free like he did with assassin girl? Speaking of whom, I won't be surprised if she pops up here, since they kind of made a big deal out of Mariabell not realizing she was still alive. I'd expect all that to be of more plot use than just showing the curse could easily be broken.
Am I remembering right that the unveiled elf is on Mariabell's side? I can't quite figure out what her deal is. |

That was my first thought too, why didn't he ask Raphael to remove Mariabell's control right away?
Sorry are you talking about Kagali, Yuuki's "secretary/vice-guildmaster"? If so, as explained in the Second Season, she is actually the former demon lord Kazalim in a homunculus body that Yuuki obtained. Kazalim was the leader of the Moderate Harlequin alliance. He was killed by Leon Cromwell, the demon lord who summoned Shizu. Considering Clayman was one of Kazalim's former subordinates, and Rimuru killed him, it seems unlikely Kagali would side with Rimuru. Kagali is on Yuuki's side, but she seemed to be surprised that Yuuki was working for Mariabell. I don't think she knew that he was under Mariabell's influence, which could explain her reaction, but that's just a guess on my part. |

Ok, that helps a lot. I've lost track of a lot of the plot over the years, especially as it grew to a cast of thousands and got bogged down in the Boardmeeting Arc.

Hey, that was actually pretty good! Fight was reasonable in slimes skill skill skill oeuvre. Maribelle seemed like a basically unthreatening mid boss - because she was! The real problem really is Yuki who is straight out of overlord. This is about the best resolution to this short arc I could expect-setting up a more interesting future conflict by having Rimiru fooled. |

The main issue was her being extremely over-reliant on her Greed skill. Once that no longer works she is still strong but nowhere near strong enough to take on a demon lord. I am glad that Yuki was just playing along since he is being set up as a future opponent and for that to work out he needs to be rather capable since Rimuru is growing more powerful by the episode.

After all that build-up, she was pretty much nothing. And more violent than had become normal.
