Gives me hope that they won't just port over Destiny's also kinda bad translation when they do a remaster (in the worst case scenario where it isn't Destiny DC)

I think that for that one they might just bring a remastered PS2 Tales of Destiny.

Honestly my second favorite announcement to come from the Direct, many fans were unfortunately losing hope with the remastered project after only getting Graces, Xillia, and Berseria, while yes the former 2 were locked on PS3 which is a discontinued console now, it’s not like it’s hard to get either that system or copies of those games (hell I already owned the PS3 versions of both). The whole reason this project was exciting for people was the possibility of actually hard to find games not only getting properly rereleased but also unlocalized games being made available for the first time. Then Berseria comes out, a game that is still readily available on PS4 which is backwards compatible on PS5 and even available on Steam, for those reasons alone many felt this was a waste. I wasn’t exactly thrilled either since I had actually just beaten it on PS4 for the first time shortly before its announcement. However despite it I was one of the few who still held out hope that eventually an actual classic game in the series would get this treatment, I chose to trust in the process and for once my faith paid off. We finally have a Tales of game that isn’t easily accessible and will get all the proper QOL updates and even PROPER ENGLISH VOICE ACTING WITH THE SKITS RESTORED. This is everything I could have asked for with an announcement like this and if this is how the rest of the classic titles turn out I truly cannot wait for more. Until then I am so excited to buy and play Eternia remastered.

Lately I've have difficulty reading, I mess up words yes, I meant that instead of simply porting the PSX version we might get the PS2 version Directors Cut instead.

Finally, I'm glad they did this. Especially for the older hard to find titles. All we had was the usa PS1 and japan/europe only psp versions so far
I actually have the europe version imported and collecting dust in my collection rofl. Guess I"ll play the new version when I get it

I like Tales of Eternia it might be one of my favorites. I'm not a huge fan of the new font i looks too clean and the new voices aren't as nostalgic to me. But it's nice to see new people will be able to enjoy the wonderous Tales of Eternia

…I’m honestly struggling to remember anything about Eternia. I’m pretty sure I’ve played… I think? Probably? It didn’t leave much of an impression Pression, if I did. Kinda makes me think of Tales of Hearts, a game whose only especially memorable factor was that godawful MTL English script.

Feels like that’s a lose-lose scenario. I can’t imagine them ever remastering both versions of Destiny, and no matter which one they choose (assuming a remaster happens at all) will leave folks wishing it were the other one, instead.

Well, Square Enix DID translate Trials of Mana and ALSO remade it at the exact same time.
