The answer was thankfully not plot armor: a couple of handy spells including drain touch and marionette made it possible (plus the skill which allowed Luck to copy spells). Now that I have my answer I might stop watching because boy was the rest of the episode bland. The characters, the world, going to the guild and joining up with some rookies to take on goblins... there was nothing good or bad that stuck out. Even animation or presentation wise it is all very dry. |

I'll watch at least one more episode because I'm an isekai doormat, but I agree that it didn't do anything special. The truth is, all I require is that an anime of this ilk doesn't annoy me, and I've elaborated on my pet peeves enough times that I don't feel obligated to do so here.
