Oh.
Well I'm glad it's actually a traditional Miyazaki-Ghibli film.
I actually thought it was going to be a watercolor style film.

Usually people refer to hand-painting as "traditional" style. It looks like it's going to be digitally colored like the rest have been after Mononoke.

Not to brag, but... I saw the full preview last week.

When I went to see Indiana Jones at the Toho theater in Roppongi, they played it... Quite nice, looks like a great family film.

Oh, on a slightly related note, they also had a special 4 minute or so DMC anime that was used to explain the "no talking, no cell phones, etc" manners at the movie theater before the movie.
It was freakin' hilarious... I wonder if it'll ever be seen outside of Toho movie theaters.

I didn't think that it was that awesome. It looks to be a nice family film.

I'll be in Japan around that time. I don't think I'll see it there though. I'll just wait and see it back in the States when it comes out. Oh wait.. First Eathsea has to come right? (Although, I have that movie on a special subbed DVD for a multi-regionial DVD player.) Oooo... I'll just wait. ^^;

Earthsea can't come until Sci-fi Channel's license expires.

^ Which won't be until at least 2009... *sighs* Yeah. Might as well see Ponyo get release first before Gedo Senki.

If you want to get hold of an official release of Tales of Earthsea with sub/dub etc, the best/cheapest way would be to import the R4 from New Zealand, (about $37US inc shipping) http://www.gpstore.co.nz/DVDs/1547535.html

It makes me think Doraemon meets Finding Nemo, but without the Pixar-like tendency for long journeys involving exploration and discovery.
