I've seen the Fruits Basket show and I've read the whole series of Crossroad. I don't know if the Fruits Basket manga is supposed to be better than the show xD
So there are so many mangas out there, I guess I'd just like some suggestions. I like the style of drawing they use in both the mangas I've seen (above). I'd really appreciate help. Thanks =] Oh, and I'm new

So you want a shoujo manga about a group of people, who may or may not be related by blood, living together?

If you like the art of Fruits Basket (and the story), you might like Gakuen Alice. It's got the same fun-yet-potentially-dark feel and the art is similar. (Probably because they both ran in Hana to Yume in Japan.
 ) You might also check out Land of the Blindfolded and Penguin Revolution - they're a bit sweeter and fluffier than Fruits Basket, but again with slightly similar art and themes. One last one that comes to mind is Flower of the Deep Sleep. It's not really like the others and the art's a bit odd, but my Fruits-Basket-Obsessed sister really likes it and there really is something appealing about it. Plus it's only two volumes.

Hard to say. . .
I can think of a number of good shoujo works but I'm not sure if it is what you are looking for. With so few titles to go on, perhaps it would help to tell us what you liked about the works (be it anime or manga). For example: If you liked the reverse harem of Fruits: Fushigi Yuugi (now out as omnibus or a 1-3 vol bound work at a cheaper price) Or the school theme: Cynical Orange, Gatcha Gacha, Hana Kimi, Tenshi Ja Nai!, Here is Greenwood Or if you like a plucky heroine who can't be put down no matter how bad it gets: Full Moon There is a lot to choose from so narrowing down the field can help get better recommendations. But you simply do not know that's okay too. Just be preparred to get a lot of recommendations and do a lot of research to see what titles you actually want to buy. Best of luck. |

If your going with Gacha Gatcha then I'd suggest the second one. The first one was kinda lame, but the second one had some funny moments in it and it was good for what it was. |

If you need any help in trying to understand the Fruits Basket manga series, you may want to try and look into the gargantuan thread that is present here in the manga forum. I would suggest checking out the manga, because it is indeed a touching and funny read. It would be worth your time and money, I guarantee you.

Not that this adds to the original post, but I meant Gatcha Gacha not Gacha Gacha. The two series are commonly confused due to the near exact name (only a one letter difference). From ANN Encyclopedia: Gatcha Gacha - Muroi Yuri is an optimistic girl who has had terrible luck with guys, and has had 13 breakups to date. She has a reputation as a tramp at her school, but she doesn't give up in her search for love. When she meets Yabe Takahiro, she feels that maybe, he could be The One. Unfortunately, he already likes Kagurazaka Motoko, but Yuri figures that since Motoko doesn't appear to return Takahiro's ardor, Yuri is in the clear to go after him. Meanwhile, Yuri is also being pursued by the Student Body President Hirao Sho, who doesn't mind her bad rep. And Motoko is trying to use Sho's love for Yuri for her own gain... Gacha Gacha - Nanjou Kouhei has been classmates with Hanazono Clara since elementary school, and he has a crush on her. However, after a fateful trip to Hawaii, Clara has started to behave oddly at times. Clara then tells Kouhei that she has been infected with multiple personalities, and asks him to help to cover for her while dealing with them. As Kouhei and Clara try their best to remove the disorder while controlling the wild and wacky personalities that emerge, their relationship begins to grow into love.
