Well, they've got the character designs right, and it seems like the back story's correct, too. I'm not so crazy about Astro's voice, though, he sounds older than I'd imagined him, too much like a teenager than a child.

I'm...getting a whole lot of nothing out of that link. The video seems to have been removed from Hulu.

I watched it on Youtube for obvious reasons.
I'm happy that they at least tried to make the trailer somewhat serious in tone. Many CGI films these days are marketed by putting little other than visual jokes in the trailer, and yet here there was only one.
Here's hoping we see less shirt in future footage.

I think most of these clips are from when he was still Tobio Tenma, that is, just an ordinary boy, and some of th art at the official IMAGI sites shows him in his official costume, so hopefully he'll be in both.

I agree that it's nice that they're advertising this as am adventure movie rather than a comedy. It is an adventure story, after all.

Thank you.

Yeah I think this will probably turn out to be entertaining if nothing else. Which frankly would set a new standard for anime adaptations. Although given it's all CGI, I am not sure if it will really count.

Edit: Typo

Already the haters can be heard complaining.

"This looks like crap!"

"Tezuka is rolling in his grave!"

"Typical Hollywood bastardization!"

"Makes DBE look good!"

Man,what are you gonna do with people like that?
BTW,these quotes do NOT represent my own views on the film as a whole since I haven't seen it.I intend to watch it and then decide if it's any good or not.

Honestly, it doesn't look that bad. But I'll wait for more footage to decide whether I'd go to see it or not.

Looks pretty good to me. I like that they seem to be going for a dramatic and adventurous angle with this movie. Too many CG movies are just slapstick and one liners (which isn't necessarily bad for a cartoon), but this one looks like it'll make for a much more well rounded family movie.

Where are you getting these quotes from? No one on this topic has said anything like that! We're all relatively optimistic.

Also, put a space after commas and periods.

Wow, this movie looks decent, but not grade A. But why does Astro sound like a teenager when he is supposed to be a kid? Makes no sense to me.

Although I wish this movie didn't look like a saturday morning cartoon, at least its not nearly has horriable as Dragon Ball. Trust me when I say this, that is a huge step up.

Edit: meant to say Grade A. This movie doesn't look too bad.

And now Youtube has pulled the preview. Summit Entertainment strikes again.

I don't get it, they release a trailer, but you can't watch it.

Where are you supposed to watch it?

There is one on http://www.astroboy-themovie.com/ but it isn't the same one that this article is talking about.

Makes no sense.
