HD anime needs Blu-ray. I ceased to buy DVD a year or so ago, and that's not changing... |

Not every otaku is interested in HD or Blu-Ray DVDs. I loved the trailer because I felt hearing Laura Bailey as Maka is more soothing to the ears than her counterpart. However, I love her counterpart's role as Jun in Natsu no Arashi.

Funimation's getting much better at making trailers lately. I'm surprised that Mnemosyne was even licensed! I wish I had a gold medal for them.

Oh good god, what a horrid trailer for Soul Eater.
The dub seems rather by the numbers as well. Hopefully we'll see a Blu-ray release of the series at some point though, since I'd love to watch it with the original Japanese track in HD glory. |

The show has gore, violence, gratuitous sex scenes, and lesbians. Why wouldn't it be licensed? |

The trailer for Soul Eater was pretty bland. But fortunately that doesn't matter.
Mnemosyne's trailer, on the other hand, was strangely funny.
You forgot to mention the gory sex, which I think is the licensing impediment bigheart711 was referring to... Not that it bothers me  Mnemosyne is great fun and I can't wait to own it.
P.S. Wow, Laura looks different in the picture of her beside the trailer. Doesn't look as bloodthirsty as she is in the series. |

I'm digging Rin. Soul Eater is is going to be good as well.
I just wish they would release shows on DVD and BD simultaneously.

The dialoge in the Soul Eater trailer was kinda painful, would have rather had one of Sabat's generic narations. If I wasn't already a fan it might have been enough to turn me off. At least the first preview trailer, which is basically the first couple minutes of the first episode, gives us a good idea of how good the FUNi version will be.
Still not crazy about Shinigami-sama being translated, even if he is more of a Western type than Eastern type reaper. Emerje |

I'd forgotten they licensed Mnemosyne. Decent show, one I'll definitely buy. For some reason, I couldn't get through more than a few eps of Soul Eater, and not interested in a dub of it in any case. Just too old for straight shonen, I guess
Add my vote for Blu-ray editions. I realize the market isn't that large yet compared to DVD, but hopefully they do have plans and don't wait too long between format releases. Mnemosyne is worth a double dip for me, anyway. There's just not that much shelf-worthy new stuff coming out. Have to get my fix wherever I can. |

I'd cal Rin less "hard-boiled science-fiction action" and more "torture-porn," only unlike the Saw franchise it has both torture and actual porn simultaneously. If you're into that, you'll love it.
If, on the other hand, you have any respect for women, you will avoid it. |

Come on now, there's no need to play this game. I won't dispute that Mnemosyne isn't really "hard-boiled science fiction", but just because one enjoys violent anime doesn't make them socially deviant.
