Gohastings has a used copy of Sailor Moon season 1 for $60. I use gohastings often and they're a great place. A little slow on Customer Service, but shipping is quick and well packaged.

May you have the fastest fingers and deeper pockets:

Thanks for the heads-up, King.

Man Theory, that was an awesome buy. The prices on these sets are usually ridiculous. Unless I find a deal like that, I think I may end up going with the Japanese R2 sets for the the better picture quality. Those blue boxes are really nice though...

That still is a very good deal. I could justify spending $250 total on both blue boxes but anymore is just ridiculous. I've watched both of my buddies collections and the video/audio quality is just atrocious for some of the prices those Ebay auctions go for. Don't get me wrong though, I'd really like to own the show, but you could end up spending a little more and getting the Japanese DVD sets. I know the picture has been touched up on those ones. Not completely sure about the audio though.

it doesn't matter if the audio is touched up or not if it lacks English subs.

Subtitles aren't always necessary, but are still nice to have. You can find an episode synopsis of every episode and scripts online. I've also seen the first season of Sailor Moon many many times, so following it wouldn't be very hard. The way I think about it is if I'm going to drop a couple hundred on a set I want it to look and sound GREAT. It's another story though if I found it for $60... Smile

Wow, I'm so annoyed. I got my goHastings package today that was supposed to contain Sailor Moon Season 1 and, surprise surprise, it was the wrong item. So I called customer service (not feeling that it was worth risking an email on) and, yup, my item got sent out to the wrong person. Which means I won't be getting anything but a refund.

grrr. I'm mostly ticked off because some dude in Maryland is, essentially, getting a FREE Sailor Moon Season 1. I just got some trash kung-fu DVD that he bought for, like, $2.00.

Holy Shit! I am sooooooo sorry. That's never happened to me. Wait, hasn't this happened to you before? Maybe GoHastings doesn't like you.

yes, yes it has. Though I'm foolishly harboring the hope that the person who got it will research it on Amazon, realize the insane prices they go for, and send it my direction... a Good Samaritan of anime.

...I can hope, right?
