I recall having read that some (official) DVD releases had subtitles with several colours in them. Or at least colours other than the standard white/yellow. Does anybody have examples of this?
I read about it in a forum a few years ago and didn't manage to dig the thread out. A quick search on this forum didn't turn up a thread of this nature for me.
Any help would be appreciated.

Aniemgo has done this probably before most people. Well, I shouldn't say that they use different colors so much that they use both colors along side each other to cordon off different ideas. Say a sign's subtitle is in yellow, while speech is in white. They did a good job with Space Pirate Captain Harlock: The Arcadia of my Youth in this way, in my opinion.

Thank you for your response. :)
Any other examples people can think of?

On the Betterman dvd releases, they use green for the japanese subtitles during the opening and ending music. English appears in white just under that.

Most R1 DVDs pretty much stick to the yellow/green/white combination because those colors are often the ones that stand out the most, with changing colors according to whats being displayed on screen. And I'm sure they can handle other colors, but its a matter of KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid), just because you can do something, doesn't mean you neccessairily should.

I really wish that more anime used the green. It's refreshing when you see it. I think it's nice.

Green subtitles would be the most obnoxious thing ever. Yellow is bad enough--but green would probably cause me to go out and step on ants. Just to feel the crunch underneath my soles.
Give me good ol' black-rimmed white and I'm happy.

Kashimashi's dvd's from MB use pink subs for the song subtitles on the opening and ending credits. Nice touch.
Animeigo really does it best though - yellow subs, and green and pink used for multiple conversations or song subs. Works really well.
I'm fine with white subs most of the time though.

Call me really nerdy, but I actually like to see different fonts used. I recently got rid of some Neon Genesis Evangelion VHS tapes that actually used Futura for the subtitles.
Yes, like I said, I really am nerdy to even recognize that.

Thank you for all the replies. I do recall having seen the green ones before, though not the pinks. ^^
