Ring ni Kakero is considered a great influence on Weekly Shōnen Jump, having had an impact on renowned manga authors and their works, such as Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball, Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho, Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto and Takeshi Konomi's Prince of Tennis

Yeah, its true. I´d add Kubo Tite and Buronson to the list of "influenced mangaka"

Its quite easy to spot the way Prince of Tennis took sooooo much from this manga, I would say Captain Tsubasa was influenced by Ring Ni Kakeru too, all of these series took the sports theme to the extreme (opposite to say, Slam Dunk)

NARUTO, mmm... Well, a clear influence might be that Ryuji and Kenzaki are both best friends and rivals...

Yu Yu Hakusho and Dragon Ball, it might have to do with how Ring Ni Kakeru made the whole concept of techniques with weird names, and

Not only that but I think it had a very strong influence on "Street Fighter" and "King of Figther", just watch some Ring Ni Kakeru episodes and you will understand what I mean Very Happy
I.e. the German team has swastikas and all that (manga version)
The french representative looks all female-looking... Basically he took the stereotype of each nationality, and took it to the extreme, like Street Figher did :3

Also, BLEACH IMHO is just a copy/paste of "Saint Seiya" from the same mangaka that did Ring Ni Kakeru. At least Kubo Tite said his biggest inspiration was Saint Seiya.

BTW, why not just go look it yourself?
Watch it online or something just so you know how much this manga/anime influenced on Shonen Jump.
Also, when watching it remember that this title is like 30 years old, so what might look too cliché for you, was "new" and made this title what it is today, even after it didn´t had an anime on its prime (30 years ago) anime adaptations are made every now and then, since

Yeah, Ring ni Kakero is pretty much the title that started Shonen Jump's rise in popularity. Kochikame was still only about a year in and Kinnikuman debuted a year later, but while those two also helped make SJ popular, it was Ring ni Kakero that took the reigns and dominated the magazine at the time.

Prince of Tennis is very much like Ring ni Kakero, even down to the stylized, even near-bishonen, looks of the characters. Just about any shonen manga owes a thanks to RnK: the tournament-style story arcs, the invvading-the-enemy-base story arcs, the crazy and exciting fight styles, the ideas of friendship and determination overcoming all... Ring ni Kakero did them first in Shonen Jump.

Hell, if you ever saw G Gundam that entire show was a bit of an homage to Ring ni Kakero, right down to the stereotyping of nations for comedic value. The director even admitted that RnK was an strong influence when dong G Gundam.

I've never read the manga, since no one scanlates them and my Japanese isn't good enough to read them raw, but the animes are easily one of my favorite animes of all time. In my opinion, Ring ni Kakero 1 is easily the best straight-up action series one can watch.

And I am so happy that it will be getting a 3rd season soon.
