Yeah I kind of found that panel ironic too. While NIS have been known to put out quality stuff and they've kept a pretty decent price range on it. Some of their older releases are still available at TRSI. My question is that is this what they have on hand despite what NIS is telling people. I had been thinking up picking up the Enma set but that was practically a summer announcement. But they are telling people that if they haven't picked them up they will be gone.
Anti-fanservice? Well, with the shows in question Enma is about taking the cake when it comes to that. Maybe they might want to rethink their model statement.

I think the anti-fanservice thing is a joke. People have called NISA anti-fanservice based on series they picked up, but they never officially said anything like this. Now they are taking things that other people have said and turning it into an inside joke basically.
As for series selling out, well they have always said their premium sets are limited. I guess some series are more popular than others. They will probably do a standard edition down the line eventually.
Anyways this year I bought more from NISA then any other company: House of Five Leaves, Ano Hana, Bunny Drop, and Natsume Yuujinchou.
However excepting season 3 & 4 of Natsume there is nothing they have announced for 2013 that holds me interest. I really hope that will change because I really do love their sets.

For those of you worried that there may not be standard editions for AnoHana, Bunny Drop and Prince Enma, you may be in luck. It has long been NISA's policy not speculate on whether a standard edition of a title will be released until they are ready to officially announce. Here is an excerpt of one of their communications with TRSI on the subject of Prince Enma:
| NISA wrote: | | So far there is no plan for Premium Edition restocked, nor the release of Standard Edition. We will consider future options carefully and announce once we make the decision. I appreciate if you could understand the situation. |
Then an ANN poster, Vata Raven, sent them an email asking about standard editions for AnoHana, Bunny Drop, and Prince Enma. This was the reply he (she?) got:
| Quote: | | Thank you for contacting us and expressing your concern about the standard release for our Anime titles.
It seems that there might have been a misunderstanding at this time. We currently at this time have no plans in action on releasing a Standard edition for the three titles you mentioned in your e-mail, but that does not mean that these will not happen. Normally when we release an Anime in our Store, we always try to do a Premium Edition for each title. After we release this title in the Premium Edition format and after this title has been available for some time we then begin working on a Standard edition for these titles. Unfortunately there has not been enough time has passed since the release of these Premium Editions titles for us to start working on the Standard Edition for these titles.
Once we have any official announcement for any of our anime's Standard editions and begin having these ready for sale, we will be sure to announce them in our Prinny Bomb Newsletter. |
There are no guarantees in life, so I'm not saying with 100 per cent certainty that standard editions of the above titles will be put out by NISA, but I don't think anyone need assume it absolutely won't happen, either.
