Anyone know when CLAMP is going to finish the series because they have been stuck on Vol. 18 for quite some time.

Nope, there hasn't been anything about it. They might finish the series, but I doubt anytime within the next two years. I thought I mught actually be interested, but I like to start collecting a manga if I know I can finish it.

The publisher wanted CLAMP to finish the series and tried to force an ending thought by him, but CLAMP didn't want to hear about it. So now everything is uncertain.

You got to hate when that happens. When things are rushed nothing comes out good guess CLAMP know this. By the way where did you get the information Arkard?

Er, no. I really don't think that Clamp has to worry about publishing problems. Reasons:
1) They're Clamp. C'mon. Seriously. Anyone will pick them up without hesitation.
2) Fans have been waiting for quite some time for Clamp to finish X. If they suddently started publishing it again out of the blue, any publisher would be willing to take it up.
3) X was run in Asuka magazine, which is still sucessfully running.
The general consensus is that the real problem is that the Clamp ladies are starting to age, and Mokona Apapa (who drew for X) has arthritis and is having trouble with making her artwork as detailed as it used to be. As you can see, while Clamp's more reccent offerings are still nice looking, they're nothing in comparision to volumes of Rayearth, X, and Clover.

Now dont be naive. They sold the rights for publication to a certain magazine. They cannot just "jump" onto someone else just because you say "fans have been waiting for X". That is totally unrelevent here. CLAMP has other business at hand. I really think X is the last thing they think about now.
Here are the FACTS: the publisher WANTS to finish X with a rush ending he has proposed. CLAMP denied. CLAMP is working on various other titles at the same time. If all goes well, CLAMP will sit down and think of an ending that will please them and THEN get to it.

I wouldn't hold my breath about the X manga being finished any time soon. You want an idea at the ending, watch the movie or the tv series. As much as I dislike anime made based on an unfinished manga, they really seem to be the best options for the time being.

How do you know that these are FACTS? You gave nothing to support that assertion. Was it something you read over the Internet? Maybe you heard it from somebody who knows somebody? I'm friends with someone who works for a company that puts out CLAMP books, and he doesn't have a clue why they stopped producing X.
Sure, a problem with the publisher does seem the most likely, but the problem you propose doesn't seem as likely as...say...non-payment of proper royalties, or some other money squabble. Remember that Prince changed his name to a symbol until he was out of his contract. CLAMP is probably just holding out until their contract expires.
And even if you heard it from a "reliable source," there's no guarentee that it's true. People tend to spread rumors to cover up contract disputes. Moral issues seem more palitable to the reading public than disputes over money.
