It would probably be a waste of an application fee, though, since neither has any real prayer of getting nominated, regardless of quality, due to getting sub-minimal theatrical releases.

Yeah, they can send out screeners, but I hear Academy members get boxes of them, far too many to watch them all.

The only Japanese title that has the slightest chance of winning this year is Howl's Moving Castle. But running against Corpse Bride and Wallace and Grommit will be tough...2005 is a return year for clayamation. And Disney's next picture doesn't actually look half bad either.

SquareEnix should enter Advent Children just for kicks. They've got the cash to waste. That is, if they actually release the US version on time...

What a useful post Gatsu, I'm sure media industry folks would absolutely not know when applications for the [expletive] OSCARS would close.

Glad we have you!

Whats the friggin' point anymore.

ADV, if they were actually interested (as would Geneon) already know when Oscar nominations would finish. If they felt as if any of their films stood a chance, don't you think they would have entered them?

THINK, Gatsu.

The more films entered, the more nominations. So of course they have a chance.

And as I said, if they thought they had a chance (being that it'd have to be justified the time and money) they would have done it, but they aren't, so just stop. stopstopstopstopstop.

Okay, this is kind of an absurd thread. First of all, I'm sure if they wanted to submit films for consideration, they'd already know this information. Second of all, I doubt they would have to be reminded from a thread they'll probably never read.

And, it derailed mighty fast. Locked.
