I'm curious if the animation is going to be based on the original Speed Racer or the 90's "remake" version.

It would be nice if it was based on the older one. I didn't really like the new one, it didn't really seem like "Speed Racer" to me.

I'm thinking it's another all together new take on the series. Art Asylum should be able to reproduce whatever SRE comes up with with no problem, they're one of the longest running toy sculpting studios in the US, to the point that they actually became their own manufacturer a few years back. I'm sure they'll be doing a ton of Minimates even though they're becoming harder and harder to find in stores (the block figure market seems to have finally peaked).
