Ok I was watching anime on Netflix last night, like usual, and I was watching Full Metal Panic! Second Raid to finish off the series. I was on episode 6 when I stumbled upon something very interesting. It was when Sousuke was at the Beauty Salon and Kaname had just beat the hell out of him. When it goes to a cutscene I saw "L" from Death Note! I couldn't hardly believe it (and yes I am one of those fanboys) so I had to replay it to see if I wasn't crazy. It definitely was L riding on a bike. Then I also saw Light, Light's father, and Misa in front of the Salon! Check it out!

When I first saw that I stopped the DVD too. It really threw me for a loop because while guest appearance like that are not rare, normally when you see a reference like that there is either some relationship because of the studio, similar type of show or EP, or same source material writer. None of which over lapse with FMP and DN I don't think.

I see that as well. I never noticed that until you brought it up. Now I have an interesting tid-bit of trivia when I am with my fellow otaku to point out next time Anime smile.

This is a well-known cameo appearance; in fact, it even appears in the Trivia section of the Encyclopedia entry for the series.

Yeah I remember seeing the Death Note characters in FMP, took me a bit by surprise but I think that might have been when I really started looking on the trivia page on the encyclopedia pages of this site.

I usually end up seeing kind of cross referencing the little cameo I see the page on here. I think I saw Mio and Ritsu from K-ON in the second season of Haruhi on a train next to Kyon, so I wrote it up in the trivia page, though I kept getting worried that I may have been wrong. Well Haruhi is already known for it's little bits like Koizumi moves name "Fumofu" and "Second Raid".

Or there was also Asobi ni Ikuyo where the Kampfer characters popped up as classmates. Or say the spider who bites Peter Spiderman appearing in Heroman. Then parody series.

I also like the so called parody series where they make direct references to
