Okay i like the manga, Legal Drug. For some reason, they just kinda stopped everything revolving around it. Does anyone know why? This subject has most likely been discussed already and I flat out missed it. Also, if I am breaking a rule in starting this topic (I don't think so. But, you never know) I'm sorry. I just want to know what is going on. Are they postponing it? Did they cancel it? ...thay kinda stuff.

CLAMP just stops doing stuff if they feel like it. X is basically dead, although there are certainly plenty of continuation rumors (most connected to Tsubasa), and Legal Drug seems to have suffered the same fate. Clover is technically complete but a lot of people feel it just ends hanging.
Their editors can't really get on their case about it, because it's CLAMP, and nobody messes with CLAMP. They just stop doing stuff if they feel like it.

Apparantly, there was supposed to be a 5th volume of Clover. Right now, I'm personally wondering if Clamp will even be able to finish xxxHolic and Tsubasa. Chances are they won't.

Less than a week ago, I asked what was up with X/1999 and Legal Drug. Those who replied indicated that both series may be on hiatus. I'm still debating whether or not to keep my X/1999 manga or to donate them to the local library.
I just hope that CLAMP doesn't do to Holic or Tsubasa what they did with X/1999 (did you know that Viz published the first American volume in 1986 ).
P.S. To see their answers, just look a little ways down this forum (look for X/1999 & Legal Drug)!

Clamps' official website lists that these series are currently in progress...where or not that means that they'll actually finish them, well.... Anywho, drumroll please:
X
Clover
RC Tsubasa
xxxHolic
and Legal Drug.

Uh, no. Wrong, very wrong. Clamp was still a 12+ member doujinshi circle in 1986.

I've heard rumors about RC Tsubasa going on hiatus
CLAMP is really good at starting things and not finishing them, which really is a shame.
But there are a fair number of series that are finished, such as RG Veda, Tokyo Babylon, Chobits, and other titles that I'm not personally familiar with (a lot of their older stuff).

Do you mean the Tsubasa anime or the manga going on hiatus? The Tsubasa anime is in reruns right now in Japan with the second season being planned to start airing this spring, but I haven't heard anything about the manga going on hiatus. While XXXholic has more of a possibility of going on hiatus, I seriously doubt Clamp will ever let Tsubasa go on hiatus. After all, the show stars Sakura and Shaoran, two of their most famous characters ever. They would be exteremly stupid for putting it on hiatus if they did and would end up pissing off a lot of fans, not to mention Del Ray and Funimation, who went through the trouble of licensing Tsubasa in the U.S. As for Legal Drug, if I'm not mistaken, that series was placed on hiatus because the magazine it was being seralized in Japan was cancelled. Why they can't just publish it in another magazine or finish off the rest in graphic novels, I have no idea, but they're probably too busy focusing on XXXholic and Tsubasa, which seems to be their two biggest cash cows at the moment, to bother worrying about Legal Drug.

Popularity doesn't really mean much, since X/1999 is very popular and it will likely never be finished.
But no, it was the manga I was talking about. The anime obviously is something completely different now, especially considering it cannot be the same as the manga, seeing as the manga is not done yet.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past them. Clamp's most popular series ever was X, and they stopped working on it years ago. Yet Clamp is still as popular as ever, it seems that nothing can hurt their popularity. And as for American companies, I'm pretty sure Clamp couldn't care less. They refuse to even travel to America for conventions and they truly don't seem to care that much about their foreign market. Clamp's members are getting older, and I think they need to start focusing on shorter stories, so they can actually finish them. Tsubasa's pacing is too slow, and that's why I'm suspecting that they'll never finish it, just drag it out into hiatus. It's exactly what happened to X.

Unfortunately for us, Clamp does have about ten finished titles under their belt, so we can't really complain...

Yeah, even if Tsubasa the manga goes on hiatus, they'll just have to pull an X with the Tsubasa anime and make up some ending.
I'm surprised their official site doesn't even mention Kobato, though.

Thank god the only series (of manga) that I purchased that were made by them was Wish and Chobits. One of the few completed series they did. I've never enjoyed it when creators just stopped the storyline out of nowhere. It honestly is a disappointment. I guess that's what happens when you have so many series going on at one time though, it kinda screws ya up.

CLAMP certainly does have a habit of doing these things. Doesn't suprise me considering there are four of them in a group and people are bound to argue about things or want to go in diffrent directions.

Just out of curiosity, of their finished projects, did any of them ever go on a really long hiatus and then come back and finish?
