What's the cheapest one you've ever bought? I paid $2 for a Japanese version of Fighting Spirit! Although I've seen some stuff for like $1 at the Book Off stores and such. If there's certain stuff they REALLY want to get rid of, they'll sell 3 books for a dollar.

All my trips to Japan always ended with a big load of manga in my bag. You`re right. The Book Off stores sell them for about 1$ a piece or if they are really old/not popular you can get 2-3 for the same price. It`s crazy I tell you. The first time I got there I ended up with 60 volumes of manga. Couldnt help myself...
The cheapest one was probably the 4 volumes of Bremen for 150 yen. The jokes on them, this is one of my fav manga

I picked up 5 Detective Conan manga for $5 at a japanese culture convention I went to 3 years ago. Of course I can't read a word of it since it's all in japanese but hey, $1 per manga, thats a deal no matter how you look at it.

I pay around 15-30 cents a volume for manga translated in Vietnamese. Whenever I go back ti visit my family I spend a couple of days looking for complete sets, the last time I went back I had about 100 kg worth of manga (thats around 3-4 suitcases)
