My friend pointed out to me the different Eva units in the anime.
Eva-Unit00 is test type and so on.. and so forth.. but my question is that Toji's Eva unit is a production model, correct? well.. if that is true... then why doesn't the white production eva units in the movie look like toji's? :?: |

Asuka's Unit-02 is a "production model" as well. If you wanna get nerdy you could argue that units 05-13 are "mass production models", but we all know the reason they were drawn different was just to look cool.

Eva go like this, unit 00 was the first to fully made, but it came out wrong. Unit 01 was supposed to be the first real eva. It was mothballed after the incident with Yui. But it was completed after a similar incident with Asuka mother and unit 2. Unit 02 was designed to be the first of the line, modeled after 01, but less complicated. In the end, NERV planned to have 5 evas with the budget the UN gave. They were units 00, 01, 02, 03, 04. Units 03 and 04 were built by Americans. 03 came from New Boston, 04 from New Vegas.SEELE built units 5 thru 13 on their own in secret from NERV. Due to Ikari's lack of presence from other branches, they were able to subvert all other branches of NERV in order to build these Units that were built to match, with the same dummy plug Kawrou.
