Anime is what you see on TV and manga is the comic book form that you see in bookstores such as Barnes N Noble or Borders. So as an example, if you're watching Naruto on Toonami you're experiencing anime, when you pick up and read the comic version at your local bookstore then you experience manga. It's that simple.

Anime is animated. Manga are comics. That's it.
