Let's make this the official thread for dream casts, joke casts and realistic casts for the EVA movie. Here are my reasonable picks: Shinji: Haley Joel Osment Asuka: Hillary Duff Rei: Unknown Skinny Model (no acting skill required) Misato: Jennifer Connelly Ritsuko: Laura Linney Gendo: Gary Oldman This isn't a dream cast, but one I'd consider viable. Osment might be a tad young, though. Anyone else? -Z |

they shuld cast the original JAPNESE voce cast in the parts becuz only they can acuratly represent anno's vision or better yet use cgi to have anno himself play all the parts. they could modify him like david bowe in the liner notes to outside did you see that? when they made david bowie look like a lady he was HOTT.

Some of the orginal cast were gender swapped.
Also Gendo should be Liam Neeson. Futuski should be Christopher Walken. Neve Campbell as Mistato. Ewan McGregor as Kaji. Unknowns as the Children. Jim Henson's muppet shop for Pen^2. And Weta CGI for the Evas. |

Yeah I have to agree on that one after his performance in Igby goes down.You would have to bump shinjis age up mind you. Also I think Jake Gyllenhaal would be good in the part of shinji,but again it would have to be an older shinji. |

The part of Rei could be played by the robot girl from Small Wonder, or one of the Olson twins - they've got the skills to pay tha bills.
I like that choice. I don't know the actress' name, but I think the older sister from the show Grounded for Life would make a good Asuka. For Shinji, I think an unknown would be best, as there aren't too many popular actors that are that young. |

Bruce, I can't think of her name either but if she would play the role, she has to do some weight reduction (for some odd reason she looks too big for the role). Anyway, I agree with the few who are saying it should be a Japanese cast (withthe exception of Asuka), unless they get crazy and hire US actors and change the names to more American names (last names might be able to stay though)... like Shinji = Shawn Asuka = well, I guess you can keep that one Misato = Melissa Just a thought, but I highly doubt that'll do that. |

Just wondering but do you actually have any ideas of what japanese actors? Personally I really have to go with english speaking actors on this one.The reasons why are because IMHO american actors and the top british actors are in general better than Japanese actors.Also its better to watch a film originally made in your own language than in a foriegn language.On top of that if this is going to work its going to need a huge budget that only an american studio can provide and they arnt going to provide that budget to a film which has japanese actors. |
