hey this is my first post, yes I did read Teh rules.
I was just wondering where I could be able to download some quality anime music videos? I have tried downloading them through the major distributers (limewire etc.) but I wanted to know if there was a legal one online that I could check out. Also what are some of the best AMVs you have seen? |

Limewire isn't exactly a "distributor," and either way, AMVs technically aren't "legal" no matter how they're distributed. But, if you want to find some, go to http://animemusicvideos.org . There are plenty of top lists and recommended videos in their forums if you want to find good AMVs. Oddly enough, that website is the first result if you search for "anime music video" at this top-secret website that nobody knows about.

No tips of where to get anything but as for a cool AMV..
I have this one FLCL AMV; it's done to Nine Inch Nails' Perfect Drug. The band is a hit and miss for me but this particular song, I learned to like(first heard from this video). I could probably upload it to some online site like google video or one of the large file uploads place if you're interested. Goodluck with the search. |

The Best AMVs I've seen:
Sublime's "Date Rape" to Full Metal Alchemist: so wrong on so many levels; but in the end so funny. Avenue Q's "If You Were Gay" to Gravitation: great timing, like it was meant to be part of the anime. Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody" to Evangelion: just a cinematic masterpiece on every level. Hey WETA! This is how the trailer should be like for the live-action version. Loudon Wainwright III's "I.W.I.W.A.L" to FLCL, Kare Kano, Ranma 1/2, Evangelion: funny, funny, and edited very well. Shakkazombie's "Siroi Yami No Naka" to Cowboy Bebop & Trigun: Spike hunts down the $$60,000,000,000 man. There's more; but not enough time. |

I totally agree with this one. It's one of my favorites. Another great AMV is "The Ding Dong Song" set to Utena. I still crack up every time when I hear the line, "Ooh, you touch my ta-la-la". What about anime parody vidoes? I've seen the Descendants of Darkness "Flying Car", and a couple of Damn Right Bishie Productions like "Shuichi's Search for the Blue Scrotum" but not much else. Is there a site like animemusicvideos.org for parodies? |

For anyone who wants parodies, go to the Super Search and select "Parody" and whatever options you want.
Funny how the only AMV topics in ANN are usually the favorite ones and the legalities. I guess it's interesting for me to see how the anime fans outside the AMV community think about the "top rated" AMVs. |

There's another great AMV synched up to one of Avenue Q's songs that I watched recently. It's "the internet is for porn" done entirely to scenes from Chobits. It's mad funny.
Also I thought discussion of downloading and providing links to download sites was taboo on ANN, even AMV's. Oh well, I'm not in any authority to stop anyone. |

I have that one, too! I showed it to the anime club I'm in; and all of us guys were just blushing ('cause the song speaks the truth A real funny one is Naruto's "Real Ninjas". See Rock Lee's dad (whose name escapes me) sing about not wearing underwear that day (another Avenue Q song; is there no song off that soundtrack that wouldn't fit as an AMV)! |

What about "Everyone is a Little Bit Racist"? What'd that be, a montage of anime characters of different races? That'd be pretty offensive. |

Do not underestimate the power of an AMV editor! Seriously, anything goes! |

There's one with the same song with Trigun scenes, mostly featuring Meryl and Vash. |

I wasn't a huge fan of AMV Hell 1 and 2, but laughed pretty much solidly through all of AMV Hell 3
Oh, and the AMV of Rammstein's 'Engels' set to Evangelion is a classic - it's what got me into AMV's in the first place. |
