I've been watching the series for the past 2 centuries that it been on and read the manga before I just got tired of it matching the series and stopped, but I do have this question:

How old is Inu Yasha? He's over 50 (since he was pinned to the tree for that long). But what is his actual age? 100? 200? How much of an older man does Kagome have the hots for?

And what is his "physical" age? If he's 200 years old, is that the same as a 20 year old human?

Thanks!

I think he was about 17 years old when he got stuck to the tree, so 17 (his age at the time)+50 (the number of years he was stuck to the tree)=67 (his physical age).

Just think of him as being 17 and not 67, though. It's like if a baby was cytogenetically frozen and then resuscitated 500 years in the future, would the kid be 3 or 503? He hasn't aged at all, so just consider him to be a 3 year old. (Does this make any sense? I'm using some pretty weird analogies...)

This might explain it.

Wow, I was really wrong. But then again, I stopped watching Inuyasha a few years ago and I am very out of touch with this series. Anime dazed I guess I shouldn't be giving advice on something I know nothing about.

Real simple, just look it up at wikipedia. Not that it's 100% accurate, but. If you read it, it would probably say it somewhere, or maybe they have a character bible for it.

Yes, there is a character bible for IY that covers up to volume 30 of the manga. According to that, Inu-Yasha has the appearance and minset of a human 15 year old. As to his actual age, I'm not sure if there's any official information on that....

If you watch the third Inuyasha movie, The Sword of the Honorable Ruler, in the part where they're talking about Inuyasha's dad's death and his sword, Sounga, being sealed, they say it was sealed for 200 hundred years starting the day after Inuyasha was born. So he's about 200 years old if you go by those dates.

I don't think they ever mention it in the actual anime though.

Man... I was wrong then. I had heard somewhere that he was about 65 years old.

That taught me a lesson: Never believe in rumors.

Rumors are always going to be around. It's the truth when you have the word of the author.
