The Gargoyle of the Yoshinagas
I don't think this is in the encyclopedia... Wasn't sure where on the forum to point this out! website is here: http://www.garkun.com/ Found the first episode quite endearing because of the Gargoyle's desire to get along with the family he is protecting. The little girl Futaba kicks the Gargoyle a lot becuase she didn't want him, he was just something she won on a lottery. Futaba is fed up with him hassling passerbys who he sees as a threat to her family. However, Gar-kun soon proves his value protecting people of the town against burglars... I wish you saw him move a bit though, it's a bit strange seeing the gargoyle 'appearing' places! |

I think that just adds to his character(the way he moves). I interpert him as a brusque military type, kind of like Sousuke from Full metal Panic. Popping out of nowhere suits him perfectly. Although I was really surprised how well Norio Wakamoto's voice suits the role( I always associate him in obnoxious roles like Onsakamaru from 2X2 Shinobuden).
Best part of episode one had to be the second time he caught the burglars. When they start acting confident about the lighting he just set them on fire:D Although it was pretty funny how futaba calls her brother an okama:D Pretty fun show so far... just it looks like it might be trying to develop a serious plot later on, might kill the series. |
