Death Note anime

Is there any proof of a Death Note anime? It's in the encyclopedia, but I thought it was just a rumor. How can you make an anime when most of it is characters thinking or talking?

It's been officially announced, also ANN wouldn't put something in their encyclopedia based on message board rumors.

It's supposed to be airing in Japan this Fall, I believe. *too lazy to look up any links*

...This definitely isn't coming to America. All we get are action ones where people try to take over the world.
