OK, first... I am not a big MDP fan, but having watched a few episodes, this freaks me out. (Oh yeah, and the opening rocks my world just with the title. Pretty Cake Magic? OH YEAH.) Now. Since when was Mirumo liscenced? I mean, seriously, I thought this was one show that never would find it's way stateside. I swear that I saw the torrents on Animesuki still up and working, like, yesterday. Besides that, it looks like it got a chop job. Though Azumi keeps her name (maybe she looks japanese enough?) Kaede becomes Katie and Yuuki becomes Dylan (that pretty much comes 3rd on my worst dub names list.) Anyway, what happened here? Did the liscence run out or something? |

I'm pretty sure it was licensed during the big licensing spree of 2003/2004. There was a lot titles licensed during that time... Companies are a little more cautious of what is licensed now, after that tactic didn't turn out that well. In other words, don't expect anybody to do anything with it anytime soon. It was a hasty license, they'd probably be losing money if they did anything with it, as I don't think it would sell that well in the US. So, they're just doing nothing with it now.
