That is almost too funny. Vegeta as a mascot for a refrigerator is a brilliant especially since he's promoting vegetables also. Laughing

I own a vegeta refrigerator and have for about 5 years.

It's toshibas brand name for all its fancy refrigerators in Japan and has been for years and years. When I bought it I noted the funny dragonball joke at the time but there really was no connection to the db character.

So now it seems they finally noticed the coincidence of the names and put together an add campaign.

It's not, I repeat not, a new product or anything.

Really? How long have they used the Vegeta name? Toriyama probably named Vegeta himself after the fridges, creating a triple-layer pun. Or maybe Toshiba themselves were having a sly joke, like how Basic cigarettes were playing off Basic Instinct, which glamorized smoking.
