It is popular because it is part of a popular game franchise, no relation to it's quality.

I would assume most people bought it for the SR/SSR code that comes with it not per se for the anime itself.

GUNxSWORD. That's a name I've not heard in a long time.

And 4818 copies? Not bad. Guess it was popular over there.

Glad Brave Witches is staying over 4k. It's not outstanding but considering the obvious decline in fanservice it's definitely a positive sign that it can keep a steady pace.

Interesting how Pani Poni Dash just made it in, despite the show being from several years earlier...Perhaps the Blu-Ray did improve it a tad...

Considering how poorly other seemingly popular game based anime have done in the past, I can't say I was expecting Granblue to do this well. Not until I say the Stalker figures yesterday, at least. A little impressed. At least the production is really good, so the show is probably worth watching for that reason. Tanya is also fairly strong. More than expected. Maybe we will actually get a sequel to that one..

The release came with special codes for the game, so that's what's probably pushing sales.

Consecutive 30k sales for YOI nice! I wonder how vol.6 will do? Yurio's wtt gala exhibition

Yes the ssr code for the game boosted the sales. It's popular in Japan

The fact that "Yuri" has been selling this well has to be a new record of sorts for the standard 12 or 13-TV episode anime,

It depends on what you mean by "standard", I suppose, but Bakemonogatari, Madoka Magica and Love Live 2nd Season are all above it with roughly one cour of content.

That's pretty good company to keep though. With Osomatsu, it'll join the top 5 best selling anime. (since we've gotten reliable disc data)
