Was Kemono Friends really that good? Its animation quality was horrendous. Wasn't this an awards for best in CG? Land of the Lustrous should've taken this easily.

Kemono Friends win the Grand Prix? Is this serious? Or the criteria for winning is popularity?

It's time for the booze to be taken away like the judges need to be sober for 72-96 hours before the event next year, that's some pretty bad judgement, Kemono Friends is a lot of things, but good 3DCG is not one of them. 3D Hentai is better than KF's 3DCG.

Considering that Kemono Friends had a small budget, that it was produced by ten people, and that it became a huge success it was more significant for the CGI world in Japan. Also this was a way to give credit to the people who had made Kemono Friends which was important considering how they had been treated by Kadokawa.

There were several awards given out and Kemono Friends won the Grand Prix prize while Land of the Lustrous won the Best Work in CG Animation prize.

Kemono Friends shouldn't have won anything. Its CG was awful. Land of the Lustrous should have dominated everything.

People here sure are ignorant of the passion and effort that went into the making of Kemono Friends. Just a bunch of salt. Sure it didn't look the best but that's why it didn't win the category for *best looking* CG in anime. The group won for being the most admirable creators. And it's quite easy to understand why.
