The most generous take I have right now is that they are holding back those reveals. Unfortunately, I'm getting the impression that the game was green lit because Demon Slayer is hot right now, but at some point the devs realized they weren't going to be able to make a diverse roster and ended up enlarging it with alternates of what they had instead.
