Here's hoping they don't pull a Nintendo and have too few units made for the demand. I would certainly like to have one.

Naturally unable to play the original discs so you are forever owned by Sony into buying digital copies. Japan will love it. They seem so keen into rebuying old stuff.
Wonder when we'll see a Sega Saturn classic. Course they'll have to pull out a 32X and Sega CD classic too.

Glad i keep all my old systems, speaking of Sega cd though, only reason i still kept mine was because its fun once in a while too go back and play the original lunar 1 and 2 on it.

ISTR that there are a few 32X Sega CD games. Wonder how that combo measures up in terms of processing power compared to a Saturn.

I don't know how well this will do. Old 8 and 16-bit graphics are the type of retro thing that even modern games try to emulate. They have an endearing quality that's timeless. Old '90s 32-bit graphics with their muddy textures, jagged edges and large polygons, not so much. People tend to expect more these days with all the remakes and remasters. Maybe it'll do well, I doubt I'll buy one just because I probably already own all of the PS1 games I want that'll be on this and can play them on my PS2 with some slight enhancements.

I fully agree here. The pixel art asthetic is a real thing and people like it (or at least a decent number) but the low res polygon textures of that age just haven’t really aged as well. But you know maybe I’m actually wrong here. I dunno.

Why am I not surprised about this and that FF7 is on there? Oh well. Nice! I hope one of the games they add is Lunar: Silver Star Story (The original version with the old dub, not Harmony).

Wow Lunar.. the only JRPG I ever could get myself to complete.. good times..
I keep my old hardware as well, the original PSX was easy to mod with the ports on the back.. swap the disc and you could play your imports.

they wont do this, but i wish they added games that's not easily obtainable. with my vita i was able too get ff 1-10, lunar harmony, xenogears, chrono cross, legend of dragoon, grandia, even arc the lad 1-3
games i still have too play my original ps2 with is lunar 2 eternal blue, tales of destiny, tales of destiny 2(eternia), thousand arms...those jrpgs never got remade or dlc ready. and if i didn't have em already id have too pay a fortune for em.

Yeah, I became a lot less interested when the video said, "virtual disc." If I still have to use my backwards compatible PS3 to play the games I already have, it seems a lot less valuable.

Sounds like Sony took notice of what Nintendo and Sega were doing and were like, "Hey, let's release a mini-console of our first game changer console as well!"
