I mean, yeah, in that they're both in the Mafia/Werewolf family of games (like a bunch of other implementations, variants, and similar games, like The Resistance, Avalon, Secret Hitler, etc.). Mafia/Werewolf is known to have been invented in 1986 by Dimitry Davidoff.
