The delay helped but I'm still not sure if I'm ready to ugly cry again when that kid holds her hand at the end. This movie deserves a lot more love than it's gotten over here.

This was always the intended story to be told, the director compromised and made a deal with the produces to get more money to animate the rest if the movie profited.
The shorter version was already good enough, but Suzu's arc suffered a bit with Rin being cut from the story. |
