That success is well-deserved, and is also exactly what Paramount needed to recover from a series of flops.

I wonder if it'll end up topping Warcraft and be the most successful video game movie. Stranger things have happened... Aquaman is the top DC hero afterall

It's amazing to see how things have changed since the first trailer came out. I don't know if Sonic can reach Warcraft numbers, I don't know if this is going to be released in China due to the Coronavirus outbreak, but I believe that Paramount is considering doing a sequel.
It would be funny if Sonic 2 will be released in '22 alongside Illumination's Super Mario Bros.

And just like Battle Angel, this will be apart of the $400 million dollar worldwide gross club.

Warcraft is the most successful video game movie? Even more than Prince of Persia?

Yes, because China added like 221M to the total.

Yes, and Detective Pikachu was only 6 million behind it.

Unlike Battle Angel which maybe broke even at theaters-and there are doubts that it did- Sonic is making a profit and will get a sequel.

I would've never said this a year ago, but I'm really eager for a sequel now.

I thought it was pretty enjoyable so glad to see it doing well. Would have been a different story if they didn't fix the design. But they did and the end result was pretty nice. I'm in for a sequel.

I saw it and it was a fun movie. Sonic was really cute, kudos to the CGI team for their hard work in redesigning him. The kids and adults all enjoyed it. I was laughing and "awww"ing a lot. Funny and heartfelt. Bring on the sequel!
