Time for my obligatory "Someone please license this!" post whenever ANN reports on the Strike The Blood OVA series. I'm dying for these to all get an English language release...

| Quote: | | The Strike The Blood: Kieta Seisō-hen (Disappearing Holy Lance Arc) special OVA shipped in January 2020, and was the first in the franchise to tell an original story episode not in Mikumo's novels. | Not entirely accurate. Episodes 23 and 24 of the TV series and the 2015 Kingdom of the Valkyria OVA were at the time anime-original content. They were later expanded into Volume 17 and Volume 18 respectively. So those two volumes were adapting anime content and the anime came first for once. No idea if the special OVA was later expanded on in Strike the Blood Append as Volume 3 just released but isn't available in English. | Akcoll99 wrote: | | Time for my obligatory "Someone please license this!" post whenever ANN reports on the Strike The Blood OVA series. The lack of legal means to watch newer entries in a timely manner has led to the popularity declining in the west while in Japan the series has been in public consciousness continuously since it aired in 2013 and has been quite successful as a result (every single OVA installment has outsold the TV series for Blu-ray sales and the sales have been very consistent). People are consistently surprised to hear the series was still going and that it's still getting merchandise and such (merch sales are another area it's been quite profitable).

didn't the last episode of the first season kind of indirectly explain that?
