The additional content for Mercenaries mode isn't too surprising since it was odd that it only had one character.
I expected the story DLC to be about what Chris was doing while you were playing as Ethan, so something set afterward is nice. Hopefully it will shed some light on some of the stuff they mention in the final scene.
The real surprise is the third-person mode. It's not as simple as just repositioning the camera, and various set pieces in it were designed to be seen in first-person. I'll be curious to see if they make any changes there. Also, I couldn't help but notice that the camera didn't pan around enough to see Ethan's face. Will the new camera mean people can get a look at him, or will they stick to obscuring it and make it so the camera somehow never gets a look at him? Conceivably, if Ethan looks at wherever the camera is pointed, he would always look away from it, and the over-the-shoulder angle may make it so that the player doesn't have full range of motion.

the world ends if we ever see Ethan's face,so Capcom better work hard to avoid that.
