Takahiro must really be the busiest man in the industry. Both him and Homura Kawamoto are probably some of the busiest creators of manga and anime in recent memory.

While Takahiro is a fantastic writer, the term multimedia project makes my skin crawl, so I'm not expecting a lot.

It does, but so do many other popular illustrators, especially character designers. They being well-known correlates with their art styles being instantly recognizable, and often that means the faces too.

A good character designer can create characters with different features and still have a recognizable style. Same-face syndrome is just mediocrity. Making the characters unique isn't easy, but it's not impossible.
