They took the Gintama route but it's sad Mappa still said anything new about Chainsaw Man movie after so much.

...it was already a two-part movie for all intents and purposes.

They're milking this for cash. Can't really blame them, though

Every other season of Shingeki also got a compilation movie. This is not surprising. Though it is mildly silly when the specials were for all intents and purposes TV movies already.
Going by the runtime it looks like this will not even really have any cuts to speak of. It'll just be the specials re-edited into one thing and probably with the chapter markers omitted. And probably some new pieces of music. Though it seems they're keeping the Linked Horizon ending theme from the final special? Which... good, tbh. It was very clear that the theme song and the final scene/end credits sequence were done collaboratively so that one would feed perfectly into the other. It would be weird to have anything else as the ending theme. Not to mention, as someone who really hated the epilogue in the manga... the way the anime presented it, which includes the Linked Horizon song, managed to make me warm up to it considerably.
