Episode 1

I know this is a co-pro between bilibili and Aniplex but it feels very Chinese anime to me. Not that there's anything wrong with that, especially with Japanese audio. Helluva a cliffhanger, that's for sure. It has me coming back next week. Nice!

This was an odd one. Personally, I found the weird shifts between CGI and animation more distracting than anything, but the idea that superheroes are like idols being cynically managed by agents and public relations teams is interesting. There's some real tension watching this idealistic young lamb being led into a slaughter house of corruption and manipulation, and the idea that his powers come from the loyalty of a fickle internet is a bit unsettling.

I'm in for week two in any case.

Not a bad start but also not something that is high on my to watch list. Given how big said list seems to be getting this is a likely drop as of now. Part of that is that Love Live is basically the only idol show/franchise I could stay engaged with.

The animation style kind of made me think of Arcane.

While probably a me problem, there are some elements that make me feel a bit uncomfortable, something I typically feel from Chinese or Korean shows.

Episode 2

Cheesiest resolution to a cliffhanger ever. What the hell was that, man? They don't even try to explain it. Oh well, I enjoyed the rest of the episode. Seems like this isn't going to be going in predictable directions.

I don't think that cliffhanger was resolved at all. Pretty sure that wasn't a dream, and the rest of the episode was just a distraction so they didn't have to give us an answer yet while still giving us more info about this weird world.

I mean, we've essentially got at least 3 dead characters already (and one playing dead) and that's before the Big Bad even gets rolling. About the only certain thing is that nothing is quite as it appears to be.
